I binged Lily Mayne’s Monstrous serious in May and I LOVED it. I’m looking for books with similar vibes, character development, settings, etc.

I’m not too picky about pairings, I’ll read any combination of people (poly included) as long as the relationship is well written. Monsters/aliens are a bonus but not a requirement.

Some of my fave elements of the Monstrous books were:

• The setting. I loved the “slice of life with added danger” vibes of this particular post apocalyptic world. The monster world was also really well developed. Basically great world building is appreciated.

• The romances. I love ride or die pairs against the world. I also love how these books either subverted or omitted the third act break up in my eyes.

• The monsters. While I’m totally into reading an all human cast, this sun has totally turned me into a monster lover and I’m going to own that.

Other books I’ve enjoyed recently with a similar vibe were:

{Morning Glory Milking Farm} had similar romance cuteness/development.

{Abducted by Love} had similar setting development with an alien slant vs monsters, though not nearly as in depth as the Monstrous books.

{Soulbound by Hailey Turner} had great world building and I loved the creature aspect too. I got a bit battle weary by the end of the series tho.

I’ve tried a couple of Ruby Dixons and they haven’t quite clicked, but I’m not at the point of writing her off completely. Vampires are the only “monsters” I’m not into.
