Today I went skating outdoors (Burgess Park) for the first time, and as a beginner I was really surprised to find it easy on smooth tarmac - also, there was a bit of wind which helped me to go faster. We were few skaters, and several better than me; there were some onlookers as well but I didn’t let them intimidate me and managed to skate for a full hour. In terms of progresses there weren’t any: I still carried my beginners insecurities/faults from indoor skating, but being able to skate outside was such a big confidence booster which is a progress itself. I guess my hybrid wheels helped, and I look forward to repeating the experience! I just wanted to share this; has anybody else felt like hitting a milestone transitioning from skating indoors to outdoors?
