Hi, I’m a newbie who just started my beginner’s course last week. I’ve been wanting to learn rollerskating for a long time, and I really want to get good at it; however, last week I fell 3 times (once pretty badly and I bruised a rib). We practice at a gym on a waxy wooden floor, which really makes me feel shaky and scared of losing balance and fall; also, when I try to go forward my wheels seem to stop rolling and push me backwards instead - which is when I lose balance and risk to fall. I’m blaming the floor, as this has never happened when I practice at home on carpeting (and the wheels roll properly). I was told not to look down and always look ahead but I find it difficult, because if I look ahead I don’t feel I’m in control… I’m going back tomorrow hoping not to break a bone (I’m wearing all my knee/elbow/wrist supports) but I’d like to feel more relaxed and confident. Any advice is much appreciated, thanks in advance! 🙏😊.
