The faint pattering of rain filled the small apartment refracting the bright neon lights from outside. The only light from the room coming from the computer screen situated in the far corner shielded from the windows view, away from prying eyes. On a ratty couch resting the center of the studio apartment lays a man fast asleep with his arm hanging to the floor. The rhythmic sound was interrupted by a notification of the computer, musical bells filling the room.
Quail startled awake and hit the ground groaning before rushing over to the computer hitting the green button on the screen, "How long did you sleep? It's been hours. No matter, we have a job for you. That address you got for us, person there has something of ours, we need you get it." Shaking his head Quail growled, "Listen man this isn't our deal. I want to take down Huang Zhao as much as you guys but I stay behind the screen."
The voice on the other end of the call chuckled, "You do now. But relax after this deal we will leave you alone, what we need is a hard drive. The files on it aren't stored on a network so we need the physical device. There's a girl that lives there, probably doesn't even know what she has. Get there get the hard drive and get out.
I hope you enjoyed that bit, I'm really looking for a cyberpunk style roleplay (genre not the game) though with a bit of a twist. I want it to take place between present day and the latter versions of cyberpunk with flying cars, corporate municipalities and climate disasters. I want it to be the world that leads up to those things and the people that tried to stop it from getting there. Perhaps if this lasts long enough the world will begin to reflect more classic cyberpunk ideas. If your interested please dm me!
