Kingstown is your typical fictional 90s town which was in the last throws of it's death. There were no jobs, an abandoned coal mine and most of young people moved to the city looking for prospects. In the 1950s it was a flourishing town it's economy driven by its coal mine. Then something strange happened.

A few years ago a big scientific facility was built around the mine. This was just a year after the mine was abandoned after a huge explosion caused by an airduct caused a section to collapse, killing 37 miners. The facility was put up in order to run tests on soil and water contamination - a collateral of the collapse , however many townsfolk found this strange. For one the facility was too big to just limit itself conducting soil and water tests. Additionally this facility was protected by National Guard!

The facility and its operations were a matter of intense debates and discussions at local taverna and game parlors and family dinners.

No one except the scientists knew that when the mine collapsed in 1985 mine an inter-dimensional portal was accidentally discovered by a miner. The portal to another world - Aetherworld. This world was world full of monsters and magic and a scientific facility was soon commissioned by the US Government to study and harness this magic. But this discovery comes at a very steep price.

Over the years, a lot of mysterious disappearances have plagued the city. Most of these are women. Before any meaningful pattern could be established between the disappearance and the opening of the portal, a news article and a state wide investigation pinned the blame on an inter-state serial killer!

The reality however is that these poor woman were kidnapped and offered as breeding vessels to the monsters dwelling in the other world. This has gone unnoticed for years and yet today the whole operation seems to be under risk of getting exposed. Rita Clarigon, a 19 year old daughter of former sheriff Gregory Clarigon has recently been taken. With police and conspiracies abound the Mayor who is corrupt and in the pockets of the facility decides to hire a private detective (my character) from the city to help crack the case.

You are a journalist /aspiring detective in the town and see this opportunity to further your own career. Maybe you team up with my character or maybe you run a parallel investigation? The possibilities are endless!
