The Legend ends with the Hero defeating evil and continuing his journey. Leaving behind the friends of his hometown. This was how the fable was told. The light always won, and the evil was vanquished. Unfortunately for the Hero of this tale, the fight against darkness was only beginning.

It was known long before it happened; The defeat of Ganon. There was no avoiding fate without taking away someone else's. The fate of the Princess of the Realm of Twilight. Forcing the 'break' of connection from the World of Light and the Realm of Twilight. Or, at least, make it seem so. The Triforce of Power granted him invulnerability. With such power, he would fake his death, and reside with the Realm of Twilight.

A twist upon the fate of Hyrule and all of the citizens. The final breath of the Gerudo man was never heard or seen. This sick illusion kept the world at peace. There was no defeat, no destruction of evil. Only a hatred that grew, knowing the world celebrated the false death of the holder of the Triforce of Power.

The Mirror of Twilight had vanished, having seemed to have been destroyed. The end of the connection of worlds was not final. Once Midna had left into the mirror, she shattered it, the only KNOWN connection. Fortunately, during his attempt to rule over the realms, He was able to create another entrance into the Realm of Twilight. With the mirror thought to be broken, it was soon forgotten, as were the Twili. The beginning of peace was false, though unseen by those lost in a sense of relief.

Hidden, the Mirror of Twilight remained intact, Ganondorf using the realm to keep his existence forgotten. Once the hero was gone, the Gerudo man would begin his reign, and capture the Princess of Hyrule. With the Twilight Realm claimed as his home for the time being, he attempted to control and rule it.

With the difficulties of handling Ganondorf on her own, Midna had attempted to contact the World of Light. She hoped, for herself and her people, that the warnings could reach Zelda or Link. There was no way her her to escape quite yet, not knowing the location of the Mirror of Twilight, or how it survived the shatter.
