He was there. Again. His usual spot, same time of the day. His presence made her... grateful. Grateful and happy.
She giggled to herself, as she watched him laying on the cold roof tiles, hands tangled together underneath the back of his head as he gazed into the cloudless sky. It was a beautiful, warm summer night - even she had to admit that. The soothing sounds of the city far away from the distance mixed with the sound of nature brought unusual but welcomed calmness to her, as she observed him with caution and also relief.
Their first "meeting" was completely accidental. She was making rounds, "patrolling" as the others would say when she stumbled into an unusual sigh. In the suburbs - far away from the busy city, she noticed a man - tall, blonde guy that was on the roof of a two story house, which she assumed it was a house that he owned. She immediately ran to him with the intention to help. From the point where she was, he looked helpless - a single man very high from the ground... she had every right to believe that he didn't know how to get down. Except she was wrong. She stopped midway only to realize that what she took for discomfort and fear for his life, was just... relaxation. He was laying comfortably on a blanket and reading a book. Just like that.
She ran away before he would notice her, but such bizarre sight still lingered on her mind for days. It was completely reasonable from her to want to help and yet there was something about him, something about how calm he was, how his eyes were focused only on the book... he wasn't just a "guy", a "civilian." He was an enigma to her.
On a hunch, she visited the same spot twenty four hours later. He was there - dressed in different clothes, this time instead of reading of a book, his mind was occupied with a laptop he had on his thighs. Identical scenario, the same guy, same bizarre and yet comforting sight to her.
That day was the beginning of something truly bizarre but also special to her. For three years she "visited" him every night - sometimes for a brief second, sometimes for longer as she was observing him from a secure vantage point. She noticed that she had developed something into she'd call fondness as she was a - invisible and small, but still - a part of this man's life. She watched him growing up and turning from a young adult into a very handsome and good looking guy.
And yeah, she wanted to talk to him. More than once. The perspective of taking a break, letting her hair loose, not being the superheroine even for twenty minutes for her was tempting, but.. what exactly she would say? Hey, how you're doing? I've been kind of spying on you for the last three years without your knowledge. How's life? No. Just no. Revealing herself would be stupid, besides she didn't know him that well. She didn't know his personality, what if he was... he was just an asshole?
Today was no different. Despite her state, she still managed to reach her usual vantage point and see him sitting in his spot, which brought a smile to her face. He was alive and well and that meant something. That meant that her job, what she was doing was still worth it. Especially after today...
She was tired and worn out from fighting another bad guy, she was bleeding from different cuts on her body, her suit was almost completely destroyed and her morale was low. She did defeat the villain after almost a two-hour long heroic battle but at what cost? At least 100 people dead, ten or twenty times more injured during her heroic fight with the bad guy. Such carnage. Such mayhem. Such pain and misery.
"But it's worth it," she whispered to herself as she clutched her wounded left arm, her eyes still observing the male. She watched as his fingers danced around the keyboard of his laptop and that made her content. She was fighting for people like him, and as long as he was safe... her efforts weren't for nothing.
She was about to leave when she noticed movement as he lifted his head from the screen. She watched as he stretched his upper body, taking care of all the kinks on his back. And then he looked up. Straight at her. And smiled.
"What the..." she whispered to herself as she looked back at him, taken completely by surprise. She wanted to literally bolt from her spot, too ashamed that she was caught but he was still there, looking at her. And still smiling.
"He knows about me." she realized as she returned the gaze. A wave of doubt washed over her once more, but the temptation to just approach him was stronger, especially since he wanted to - he didn't call her, he didn't yell, he just... waited. He looked at her with both curiosity but kindness, giving her space.
And that day, exactly three years later since their initial "meeting", she went with her heart. Instead of running away, she joined him feeling both fearful, but also interested in what will happen.

In case it wasn't obvious - I'm looking for an RP where my character is an OC, normal guy who befriends and eventually falls in love with a superheroine. The prompt is a little vague but I don't want to force any details here - the only thing that I would like is for your character to be an already established superheroine, not an OC [Altough I would prefer the more known characters. Bonus points if you're willing to play Supergirl, Batgirl or Wonderwoman]. And we don't have to take a deep dive into all the comic lore connected to the characters, just playing with those heroes is enough.
I'm looking for a long-term, slow-burn story. Any additional details we could improvise on the spot or talk over. I RP via Reddit PM's but also on Discord. In terms of timezones: I'm from Central Europe.
Have a nice day everyone :)
