You needed money in hurry, you know you should have gone to your family but were too embarrassed. How could you explain the debt you’d racked up?

College had not worked out. Not that you weren’t more than smart enough, you just chose to party and have fun at the expense of passing your courses. Unfortunately that left you with a pile of debt and no degree. Maybe you should have picked a less expensive state college?

After the college debacle, you just had to live the city life. You found a job. Though it wasn’t great, just a secretary at a small law firm, it payed okay. Then you found an apartment that you could barely afford, and moved in for the glamorous life in the city. Unfortunately it wasn’t that glamorous, it was just work and struggle to afford groceries.

Now on top of the college debt you’ve somehow managed to max out 4 different credit cards. That is when you get a layoff notice. The firm just lost several really important clients and needs to make cuts, unfortunately you are the cuts they chose to make.

Now you are desperate, about to lose your apartment, and be forced to crawl back home and admit that you have failed. You hear about a job opening that would be perfect for you, another law firm is looking for a new secretary. You apply and go for an interview, everything seems perfect and you convince yourself you’ll get the position. However your bills are overdue now.

That’s where you mess up big. You take out a loan from a loan shark, as he is the only one willing to give you money. Unfortunately you don’t get the job, turns out they ran a credit check on you and decided you were too risky.

Now that loan is due….
