We were friends for years. Residual feelings had always lingered, I had spent most of my life fawning over you, putting you on a pedestal, bending over backwards to accomodate you, propell you and your dreams. Put you first through everything. There was always chemistry between us, our common friend group meant we were always being teased and paired together. At some point, I had decided to simply tell you what I feel, and if the answer was positve, nothing could be better. Fate, however had different plans. Or was it you doing the planning? I wouldn’t know, but soon enough, I found you waltzing back into my life, all traces of subtlety forgotten. Despite having not spoke to each other in years, you are touchy and possessive from the moment you lay your eyes on me, pretending that the void that was all these years never existed. You dorce your way into my life, firmly eatablishing yourself into every aspect of it. Tweaking, manipulating, forcing, you use all the means possible to ensure that I stay with you, remain dependent on you, because you had lost me once and you would ensure I don’t dare leave you again.

Entangle me in a web so intricate, I don’t have any chances to escape. Maybe manipulate a few legal documents, or milk a bad situation( that you may or may not have a hand in creating) and force me to tether myself to you, both legally and normally. Put a collar on me, with your name on it. Make me advertise that I am yours. Brand me as your whore, tattoo me up. Make me sign marriage papers and say out loud that I would always be yours. Torment me for leaving you, punish me for the years of silence and separation- as if all of it was my fault. Treat me like a treasured jewel, one you would lock up and keep away from greedy eyes- always remind me that the best I could be is yours.
