Post Body

It was obvious to anyone who walked by- obvious to everyone, in fact- that he was waiting for someone. If the ostentatiously-displayed flower in his lapel wasn't obvious enough, there was the other evidence; the book he held in front of him, open as though he were in the midst of reading it, cover prominently displayed so anyone could see what it was with a glance. There was the outfit, too- the shirt, the jacket, the tie, all slightly too brightly coloured to be anything other than a blatant signal of who he was. There were the nervous glances at his watch, at any clock in sight. The compulsive checking of his phone; the switching on and switching off, the too-casual glances at a temporarily-bright lockscreen, the twitching of a finger as though he desperately wanted to call someone. As time wore on, his shoulders slumped just a little bit further and further, his glances became more overt, and less furtive; his foot began tapping, his fingers drumming a beat on the cover of the book.

And then, just when he was about to give up hope, a figure sat opposite him and greeted him.

Little did he know, though, that they weren't who he was looking for at all.

So, as you can probably guess, this is a prompt about someone who basically gets stood up, and whose blind date gets hijacked by another woman- who, is up to you. They get on well, discover plenty in common, and then...well, will the truth be discovered? Will things go swimmingly, or end in disaster?

I prefer to rp over discord, and prefer to write in first person past tense, but I'm willing to do third person if it's a dealbreaker otherwise. I prefer a paragraph or two per reply, unless there's a dialogue-heavy part, in which case anything more than a single line is great. I'm also willing to do this the other way round, where a guy swoops in on a girl who's been stood up; it's entirely up to you!
