Adrian stood looking out over the snowy landscape. He grew up here in Oklahoma. The most snow they ever got was two inches; and even that shut down schools. His M4 strapped to his back and 1911 tied to his waist. Watching the sun go down he finally decided to bed down.

Turning on the infrared scope he watched the landscape. Finally he saw just a dot of heat. Years of being in the snow, and days without eating made his shot perfect. He watched the splatter of heat and began to make his way towards the thing he had shot. Truth be told he didn’t care if it was human or not at this point... it killed him to admit that to himself. He was just so hungry and had no one left anymore.

To his relief though it was just a small fox. Probably just using its natural instincts and searching for noise deep within. He had just begun to skin it whenever he heard a light coughing. Turning behind him he saw a shadowy figure and cleared his throat hand going towards his pistol.

“who are you..”
