Hi, thanks for checking out my prompt. It’s been a while since I’ve posted so I apologize if the following is painfully awkward. This is an idea I've had for a while but I refrained from posting it because I wasn't sure how well it would translate to an RP. I'm finally giving it a shot though to see if anyone is interested in trying it out with me.

If anything seems too vague, please let me know and I'd be happy to flesh it out with you or fill in any gaps. The story revolves around a squad of mountain pathfinders in the military. They’re reluctantly assigned to escort two or three researchers from a university deep into some largely uncharted mountains in search for an ancient city that shouldn’t exist. Tensions eventually begin to rise between the soldiers and the academics as freak storms block their way back to civilization and they begin to see strange lights atop the mountains, lights that shouldn’t exist, accompanied by haunting songs. As they’re of turning on one another, they find what they’re looking for… plus far more.

I’m picturing this in an alternate-Earth type of setting with technology equivalent to World War 2. No fancy drones or satellites to help them navigate and search for the city. I also enjoy the vague menace of Lovecraftian horrors and that’s the kind of threat they would slowly come to recognize.

I’m looking to play the sergeant in charge of the soldiers but I’m open to my partner playing as someone under my command, an assistant to the blustering academic who thinks they’re in charge, or even the head of the University team. We can also share control of the secondary characters. I know that cosmic mysteries and ancient ruins aren’t exactly the most traditional backdrops for romance but I enjoy when opposing characters start to fall for one another and they have to fight their feelings even as duty and danger loom around them.
