Six months ago, the unthinkable happened; at a summit intended to broker the first real, lasting truce between the superheroes and supervillains of the world, everyone attending disappeared. All that were left were the scraps, the remnants, the ones that were left; the weak, the rookies, the old, the retired, the injured, and the cripplingly-specialised.
In other words, you.
One month ago, letters and emails appeared in mailboxes and inboxes, inviting you- yes, you- to become part of a new Hero initiative. The world needs hope, you were told; the world has villains and criminals that still need to be stopped; the world needs you. You were told to report to Worthing Academy For Troubled Youths- secretly the pre-eminent school for the gifted- where the Headmaster, the Faceripper, renowned ex-hero and mentor to the elite would welcome you.
Today, you meet at the academy for the first day of the rest of your lives. Welcome, heroes. Welcome, all.
Whatever Happened To All The Heroes? is a literate, group roleplay based around the incoming class to the Worthing Academy, and their adventures and misadventures. We're a friendly group who like to kick back and chat as much as we like to get some serious roleplaying done. With plenty of experience of both group and individual roleplays, you'll find an environment of people who love to write, and who love to write well, and who love to tell a story.
A few ground rules: All characters are weak. That's just the way of the universe. There's no Supermen here, no Batmen or Wonder Women or Captain Americas. At best, you'll be a retired hero who was sidelined for being old; at worst, you're a rookie with no control, no experience, and no respect.
Please be 'literate'. That means at least a couple of plot-advancing paragraphs per post. Loners and passive-aggressive corner-sitters will need to put in extra effort to be involved; you'll have to come us, we won't come to you.
Please be active; taking a few days out here and there is fine, but if you're going to be inactive for long periods of time, please let someone know.
Have fun!: We're all fans of superheroes, and if you're not having fun, what's the point, right?
All characters must be of legal age; college age at the youngest. For liability reasons, the school is unable to accept students under the age of 18, even if they 'look over 18', or 'are secretly a 100 years old'.
Okay, so feel free to message me with questions and stuff. If you're looking to join, put your favourite superhero- or villain- in the title, and answer me these questions three: How much experience do you have? If you had any superpower, what would it be, and would you use it for good, evil, or personal gain? It's not a question, but a quick one-paragraph writing sample would be great.
Please do not use Reddit chat. I don't use it, and will ignore all messages that come through on it.
See you soon, hopefully!
