Hello, my name is Josh I love just about any setting for a story, high-fantasy, urban-fantasy, gothic horror, sci-fi, noir, and even regular day-to-day life sometimes. I would love to hear any ideas you might have, plus I have more if you're interested, the one I'm pitching below is just my most recent idea on for the "damsel in distress" trope. Essentially, a princess would be captured by a fiendish dragon which had recently moved into the area. After several days or weeks of captivity and torment, and to her monumental surprise, another dragon would appear to save her. Unbeknownst to the princess however, her father had put out a bounty for the return of his daughter and the reward was her hand in marriage. Since she is the youngest of his children, her claim to the throne is minimal and any man who can wrest her from a dragon is worth keeping around. Unfortunately however, the king must now uphold his end of the bargain and wed his daughter to the dragon who rescued. I'm up for discussing the exact terms of such an arrangement but I figured the dragon gets his bride and promises to keep the small kingdom safe in return. Of course the princess is less that thrilled at her new circumstances but ultimately it's for the good of her people and there is still the question as to why the dragon even saved and wed her, instead of simply taking what he wanted.
