His Secret Illuminations by Scarlett Gale
A small slight shy monk who meets a tall confident warrior woman and goes on an adventure. Schenanigans, battle, magic, heists, "good boys" and blushing ensues.
Lucian makes copies of books and brews healing potions to pay off his indenture servitude contract at the monestary where he has lived since he was a small child. He has been told all his life that sexual attraction is a sin and that he should never even speak to a woman. However, every few months a tall, stapping, armoured woman with tattoos and a partly shaved head comes in to run dangerous errands for the abbot. This is the She-Wolf of the warriors guild. There is something about her that just makes Lucian think about her all the time. When she buys his contract to help her recover stolen books for the Monastery, he gets to learn all about her, the different lives of people outside his cloister, what he was sheltered from, and how to fight. The She-Wolf, real name Glory, frees her new little monk friend from the contract she bought from the abbot and is quite happy to teach him all about the world while protecting him from it, sometimes literally and effortlessly carrying him away from danger. She is always treating Lucian with respect, cherishing him and giving him lots of headpats and calling him sweet boy. In return he heals her reads to her, and learns other ways to help her. Although she doesn't hold back teasing him once and a while she never forces him into anything knowing this is all new to him.
It's queer positive, sex positive, discusses how different religious sects disagree and how some can do harm or good, and no one seems to give a damn about gender roles.
Rating is explicit for graphic sexual content including >! depictions of masturbation and sex, internal monologue of bdsm, biting, oral, piv penetration. It's all gentle femdom and realistic depictions. No fade to black or impossible body functions. !< And violence including: >! Sword, dagger and magical battles, which there is only one particularly gruesome one. Someone does get stabbed, but its not put into detail. Also there is a short bar fight. !<
Very fun read. My wife and I read it together and had a blast. There's a sequel and I can't wait to read it.
