âMeeting Upâ
Aaron awoke from his lust-filled dreams to an empty feeling. The sunlight was streaming from his blinds into his eyes, warming his face. Yet a chilling feeling blew across his back. The feeling sent goosebumps down his spine. His back was yearning for her. It longed for her heat, her arms. The pillowy feeling of her breasts pushing into his shoulders. Aaronâs ears tuned out the sounds of the city outside, and the only heartbeat he could hear was his own.
Aaron instinctively reached for his phone on the nightstand. His eyes squinted at the artificial light for a moment, but soon adjusted to find several messages waiting for him: Emails, a text from Malik, and atop the pile of communications, Laurenâs invitation. She had sent it to him twenty minutes ago.
âHey, do you want to go to WSM at 9 today?â
In his bleary-eyed and still awakening mind, Aaron mistranslated.
âHey. West South Management?â
Thankfully, he received an answer almost immediately.
âHaha! Westman South Mall.â
Aaron chortled.
âLol. Sure thing.â He responded.
Aaron rose now. While most Sundays would have seen him sleeping in till half past eleven, his need for Lauren far outweighed his urge to close his eyes and return to sleepâs embrace. He made his way to the bathroom and woke up a bit in the shower. He thought back on the night before last. How Lauren had felt so close to him while they rinsed off together. How the heat from the water and blood coursing through his body made him feel like they would melt into each other. He recalled her hands around his member, stroking without a break in pace, forcing his legs to nearly give out. Aaron felt himself get hard again at the memory.
As he emerged from the bathroom clothed in a towel, Aaron checked his phone again. Lauren had tried to call him twice. He quickly dressed himself in his jeans and a new shirt before making his way to his kitchen. After preparing some coffee and oatmeal, Aaron called Lauren back. It only took two rings for her to pick up.
âHey.â Her deep but soft voice puffed from his phone, only some of its magic lost by the static.
âHeya.â Aaron replied, his cheer slightly poking through his grogginess. He tried to eat and drink as discreetly as possible, not wanting to let any sounds of chewing or swallowing be picked by his microphone.
âHowâd you sleep?â She asked. Lauren at the moment was sitting in her kitchen, also sipping coffee. She was already up and ready to go to the mall. Getting dressed and making breakfast was far better than laying bed, waiting for Aaron to respond to her calls and texts. Normally, she would have been much cooler about the entire affair, but something about seeing Aaron put a giddiness inside her.
Aaron chuckled just a bit. âI missed you.â He mumbled. Even when she was not there looking down at him, he blushed.
Lauren smiled to herself. âMe too.â They sat in silence for a moment, listening to the static. Through it they could feel one anotherâs presence.
âSo donât be late. Iâll meet you at the South entrance, by the food court, alright?â Laurenâs eyes drifted across the kitchen, landing on her pink apron. She smirked slightly.
âIâll be there on the dot.â Aaron confirmed.

Aaronâs breakfast and commute to the Westman South Mall were in many ways representative of his frame of mind for the last two days. Mostly dazed at his good fortune, and with a head full of Lauren. He could feel their fingers interlocked, and looked forward to clasping her palm again. On his train ride South, every head above his, every woman with short hair, every olive-green jacket reminded him of her.
His head was in such lustful aloofness that he almost missed his destination. The wide, glass doors of the mall leading to its halls and transparent dome roofs were waiting for him. They were sandwiched between two skyscrapers, and thus gave the mall and all its entrances a very hidden feeling. Aaron was almost fully past them when he noticed his error. He quickly turned back and jogged up to the doors.
Aaron checked his watch as he entered. He was two minutes late. âShoot.â He thought.
He surveyed the area in front of him. He was facing a stereotypical food court. The glass roof overhead streamed sunlight in and illuminated the entire seating area. The tables were mostly empty, along with the rest of the mall. It may have been Sunday, but it was still a bit early for most people to be shopping. Around Aaron were all the restaurant chains one could expect. Fast food burgers. Fast food sandwiches. Fast food salads. Fast food shakes. It was the antithesis of the West City culture, but it made Aaron smile for some reason. âSometimes all you need is fast food.â He thought.
Aside from glancing at his surroundings, however, Aaron was surveying the place for one reason. At the tables, only a few elderly people sat eating, hunched over their plates. At the restaurants, young employees were still setting up shop while there were no customers to serve. In the center of the food court was a large fountain, ever-spewing water, yet only a couple of children could be seen gazing into its shallow bottom lined with coins.
âWhere could she be?â He wondered. âShe canât be that hard to spot. A gal as tall as her would stick out in any crowd.â His eyes traced the heads for familiarity. None stuck up very high, no women had short hair, and no hint of olive-green stood out to him.
âMaybe sheâs late.â
Almost as soon as the thought entered his head a pair of hands clasped his shoulders. âSPOOK!â He heard from behind.
Aaron let out a yelp, drawing looks from the people sitting nearby. Laurenâs laughter rang out from behind him. He turned around, a frown on his face.
Between breaths she spoke. âIâm sorry⌠heehee⌠but that was priceless.â Aaron watched her for a few moments while she got over herself. He couldnât help but chuckle a bit with her, despite his disgruntlement. Finally, they both calmed.
âOkay,â Lauren held her arms out to him. âNow I really am sorry.â She pulled Aaron in for a bear hug. Her arms wrapped around his chest and back, meeting at his shoulder. She leaned over and rested her head atop his.
Aaron couldnât help but smile as he was enveloped by her jacket. A smile fought its way up his face. âI forgive you.â He muttered.
When at last they broke apart, he managed to bend his eyebrows into a faux-frown. âIâm still upset, though.â He lied.
Lauren gave him a peck atop his head. âLet me make it up to you.â Her hand snaked around his arm and clasped fingers. She began to lead him forward. âI know a lot of cool places around here, and some âfunâ spots.â She gave him a wink. âVery empty and very secluded.â
Aaron grinned, and together they walked forward, hearts brewing with excitement.
