There's a lot to explore in our niche, so I thought we could create an event that builds community and celebrates us, gender nonconformity, and RR media!
Online conventions can be held via Twitch, YouTube, and Discord, can be set up for free (minus the time we spend preparing and running it!) and can of course be accessed from anywhere in the world. They're often hosted by multiple people to cover time-zone friendly 24 hour programming, sometimes across multiple days.
The programming could include:
- Panels (talks on RR/GNC in society, history, fiction, different cultures; advice panels, ...)
- Interviews / Q&As (with RR couples, creators, ...)
- Artist alley (creators present their RR work, live commissions, discounts, ...)
- Fashion show (community members showing off their GNC drip)
- Watch party (watching RR media together)
- Party games (themed Cards Against Humanity, Jackbox Games, ...)
- and more!
Personally I'd love to both attend an event like that and contribute to it, and there's a ton of ways to do the latter: holding a panel on one of your RR-themed special interests, moderating panels, moderating the live chat, hosting the live stream, creating a website, running social media accounts, graphic design, setting up a Discord server, reaching out to potential panelists/interviewees and media outlets, and the list goes on...
My main questions are:
- Would you attend a (free) RR/GNC themed (online) convention?
- What would you like to see/do during such a convention?
- Do you have anything you'd like to contribute to such a convention?
This is more brainstorming than a proper interest check, but I'm SUPER curious about everyone's input and I think it'd be so exciting if we could make this happen!
