Screen Mirroring or Internet, but not both?

I recently got Screen Mirroring to work between my Windows 10 laptop (wireless) and my Roku 3 (hardline). However, when I get the screen mirror up, I lose internet on the laptop. The laptop is still connected to the wireless network, obviously, but I can't get my browser to load anything - even the IP address of the wireless router.
Any experience with this? What is going on?
