Before you all tell me to talk to Roku tech services etc. I have, the call center in India treats me like I'm an idiot, wanting me to unplug/reset my Roku, modem etc. I'm not completely incompetent and have done all this!
Anyways, we have a Roku 2050X running software version 3.1 build 1167. We've had this box since 2010 and have it hooked directly to our modem, sitting next to our tv (same tv this whole time) We use it primarily for Netflix & Pandora, also occasionally Amazon, Hulu, Crackle, Tunedin & SoundersTV (our local soccer team) about a month and a half ago, our modem died of old age. When I replaced it, all of a sudden Netflix & Pandora wont work, the other channels are fine. After spending countless hours on the phone with Roky, Netflix and Frontier tech support, all any of them can tell me is that our internet is too slow to support streaming (1Gig)....I call BS on this since I can stream both Netflix and Pandora on my laptop through our Wifi just fine but whatever....I can still watch movies using Amazon, Hulu & Crackle, so I don't believe it, but figured I'd upgrade our speed anyway, 'cause it was time!
I waited a month, but finally upgraded to 7 Gigs today. Still no Netlfix or Pandora on my Roku.....factory reset everything etc, NADA!
Netflix stays on the "Retrieving..." screen for about 3 minutes before kicking me back out to the main menu & Pandora is stuck on retrieving my stations but won't kick me back out automatically.....Can anyone help me here? Did these two services upgrade something and I need to get a new box? Did my modem damage the Roku when it died?
TL;DR: Modem died a month ago, replaced it with newer/faster model, now Netflix & Pandora won't load on my Roku, can stream videos with other apps just fine, as well as Netflix on my computer......
