Back to Rogers
Post Body

I’ve been a Rogers customer since September of 2019. I left in July 2023 due to the high costs and never getting much outta my plan. With Bell I paid $65 for 75GB of 5G data unlimited texting and calling in Canada only. I have to admit for being in a city and hearing about the complaints Bell would never give answers leaving me with constant low bars and out of service problems they told me they needed new towers. I took a Rogers win back call and was kidding around as I’ve gotten horrible offers before they wanted me to pay the same and get less data and told me it was a better deal. This time I was curious and was offered my same plan including US CAD and 1000 Intl mins for $50. Well I went back to Rogers and since haven’t regretted it. I love the support channels and testing options and the quickest calls. The only downgrade was my data speeds that only get up to 250 Mbps as my Bell was significantly faster when it worked (I was able to do cloud gaming from a hotspot in a basement getting super high speeds and near prefect gaming in Fortnite). My only insecurity with Rogers is the stories I’ve heard of people getting into Rogers account which I felt safe with having Bell as they were super long in their verification process every time. Now I get spam calls from Bell trying to offer me my old plan with 100GB for $45.

Also for my travelers Bell sucks, long distant texts (I needed to do for a support channel on SMS) Bell charges $0.40 for a text to the US. When I left Rogers it was $0.15. Bell’s Roam Better ($13 in the US and $16 Intl) is also roam worst you are topped out on what you can use as the Rogers Roam like Home service ($12 in the US and $15 Intl) is actually cheaper and allows you to access your services no differently than home. This is no longer and issue for me in the US but for most users these prices may matter and I wanted to maintainlu point this out because Bell has worst options yet Bell chooses to be more expensive with roaming.

Overall the reliability and support with Rogers has always been amazing (Bell or Telus could be better for you), I’ve been charged for roam like home on accident and they’ve always removed it even if it was my error. Bell I felt I had to argue to be heard and they would never contact you back like they said and take long to fix their service. They were running off a partner tower in my area that LTE wasn’t working on for over a month drowning and ignoring the issue that was much reported.

My advice to my pointless rant, switch carriers. You probably don’t have anything to lose unless you are concerned about your voicemails. You will also receive win back calls they also waive activation fees tech news in Canada says every year if you aren’t happy and it’s the best way I’ve reduced my bill. Also lie about your last plan so they have to compete in what they offer instead of the equivalent. You have to know not all carriers will offer as good as service. But remember Rogers owns Fido and Chatr so switching to them wouldn’t make any difference on their end.
