Port forwarding

I have a small home server that was used for hosting several games. I've been having problems with the new ignite app and setting this up. According to the app the ports are open and good. But they are still not accessible. The server connects to a managed switch and then directly to the ignite router. Has anyone else run into a similar issue? Rogers keeps saying there is nothing they can do to support because we setup the port forwarding.
