How do people meet roger before the show

I just got my tickets for the boston show and I'm super hyped. But I've been seeing a lot of videos online of roger signing people's albums outside his hotel. How do people figure out that type of stuff and for anyone who's don't this do you have any tips to be successful in trying to meet him and getting something signed
