Before you read : This is for people who bought tickets from resellers, using a credit card. If you did not use a credit card, or if you used PayPal F&F, this will unfortunately not help you.

Hi everyone, I am posting this in Hope's that it may help someone who bought tickets from a reseller and think they just got double scammed. Note, I am writing this with 5 years of experience in a credit card company, currently working as an instructor/auditor for their Chargeback department.

1st thing first. Make sure you used your credit card, not with paypal friends and family, or any money transfer sites. If you used the last 2, unfortunately the service you paid for (wiring money) has been rendered, and you have no protection.

2nd. Check your emails for the day you were supposed to receive the tickets. Most banks will ask you to try to find an arrangement with the vendor, but only after you were supposed to receive the tickets, so find that date, and set yourself a VERY BIG reminder. (You can contact the seller before, but many banks will not take the before attempts in consideration).

3rd. Once the date you were supposed to receive the tickets has passed, send them an email. Keep a copy of any communication you have with them, these can be useful later. If you do not get a reply after 5 days, your job here is done.

4th. If they reply, try to get the refund, and work towards a full refund goal. If they say something like you will receive the tickets at a later date, their deadline is the day the Lan was supposed to start, so on the day of the lan, you are ready to go to the next step. If they offer you a partial refund or anything similar, BEFORE accepting anything call your credit card company or bank, and explain them your situation. Some banks will tell you to accept the partial refund and they will dispute the rest, others will tell you to decline anything under the full amount so they can dispute it whole. Be sure you follow your banks directives on this one!!!

5th. So, now you either got no reply, or the just told you false promises to waste time. No worries, within 80 days of LAN, you can still issue a chargeback through your credit card! Now it is time to call your bank. You call them, asking to dispute a charge that was done on your credit card, which you did not receive the merchandise (the tickets). Most banks will ask you if you have done the steps above, so you don't have to wait any longer, you did your homework!

Some banks may ask for a written letter containing the details of the situation, make sure you put everything in there, all the details, dates, charges and what not. Give them as much information as possible, as that is how they can provide you with a refund.

As for any hotel/flights arrangements, call those ASAP. Unless you bought the no refund value pack, you are early enough to get a refund, call now or you will regret it later!

All in all, this is a pretty shitty situation for you guys, but rest assured your bank/CC Company has your back, and they will do what needs to be done for you to get your refund, most will actually issue you a temporary credit while they do the work, and only charge you back if you withheld important information that made them lose the case!
