Controller question

So I've made a few posts with me coming back into the game after a over half year break. Me and my roommate play together and I had gotten him a browser Nintendo switch controller. We used it almost everyday through big picture mode. But since coming back it hasn't worked anymore :/ I've tried matching my settings but it isn't working. The issue....i have the same controller and I use it no problem. Any controller pros able to help a fellow gamer?
