Problem with changing display name

This is actually my son’s account but I changed his name on his account months ago and it’s not showing up when he plays. On epic.com it shows the display name he wanted but it’s not showing his old DN. Also, despite him having all the same stuff in inventory across different consoles, his name is different on all platforms including the account page.
