Let me start by saying im a causal player who is not dipping their toes into the ranked playlist. No game has ever made me so angry yet I can’t put it down. I have some gripes and would love to know what you guys think from the view of more seasoned players and my fellow new & casual players
The point system adds to the toxicity of this community. I get that everything cant be analyzed for points (and I wouldn’t want it to) but there have been many games where i may end with 100-175 points from rotating, disrupting the opponent’s push and just playing defense. There have been games where i can have 3/4 saves & 1 assist but i get outscored by the teammate who ball-chases with 2 goal on 7 shots lmfao.
We all whiff!!! Just apart of the game especially down where i am in silver/gold. Screaming & a million wows does that help a damn thing. Let it go because that same teammate you yelled at just saved your bacon with a clear when you whiffed in your own end.
Do the basics not matter? I can’t count the amount of times i have teammates down in silver/gold who try to do ceiling shots and aerials just to lose possession and give ball right to the opponent in our end. Or dribble uncontrollably in our end/ near goal after a stop and get their cookies taken for the opponent to have a clean shot, or it leaves you in a 2v1 or 3v2. My philosophy is clear/pass the ball after a save/stop to give your team a good chance to turn it into a push for you guys instead of giving the other team free shots.
Are people allergic to rotating back on defense or is offense just the only thing lower players think about? I was told it gets better once you’re in higher ranks (doubt ill get there lol). Do players not think of their actions before they do them? Such as seeing a teammate in perfect position for a clear/save and the other rushes in either A) bumping both out of position, B) not getting it out of the way or putting it in more danger just so they can touch the ball.
Sorry for the long post just wanted to know some thoughts on these things as im finally getting into RL a little more seriously now.
