Where to live as a graduate student in Rochester?

Post Body

I will be moving to Rochester next year to attend Nazareth University. I am coming from a university town, where almost every apartment complex is student housing. I'm completely new to trying to find housing in a city so looking for some advice.

Some things I've considered already: - I'd rather live alone (I'm nervous about living with strangers, especially as an autistic female-presenting person in a big city) but I'd be open to having roommates if I knew they were also students - I've thought about reaching out to my program director, but I've spoken to older students and usually my program is very small (around 4 students) so I'm not sure if that would actually be helpful? - I'd like live within 20 minutes from Pittsford (I am flexible on this though, especially if public transport is an option) - Ideally rent would be less than $1000/month, but I might be able to afford around $1200 depending on scholarships/assistantships

If anyone has advice on how to search for apartments, or has apartment recommendations, please let me know!
