3. Approved user system: An improvised version of the Reddit-approved user system. Here, the main difference is that every user will be able to post content, but the posts will only appear on the subreddit after a moderator's approval. The moderators can make them approved users based on their posts. You will be able to see their posts in the mod queue.
Also, make sure to add removal reasons to every post and tell users in the sub description or rules that only after moderator approval will the post appear on the timeline.

Topher always hated the automod in principle . And as things always seemed to go wrong if I varied from his plan I have held on to that belief . But it's your show now, you do what you think is right . Just remember that the interaction between the moderator and the member is important and labor intensive. And it should be - the more things that come between the moderator and the member is not positive for the network . I'd rather have twice as many moderators than half as much interaction.
But this may be part of what I mean when I say you are the future . Just really absorb "education; kindness; patience;" at the heart of all your thinking and decision making.
I've had to bend on the automod once: JennaOrtegaLust where we changed the direction of the sub midstream. And I went minimalist as hell.
Anyway I'm just whispering in your ear. These decisions are yours now. Just be ever mindful of the slippery slope: the Evil Empire did not start out evil it was a collection of bad decisions, one by one, over 15 years.

Doesn't tend to happen in RTN because if leadership goes dark I tend to assign more moderators to the sub. I always worry about the slippery slope. Once you start using it it gets easier and easier to add 'features'.
