Wiring help

Just got our retrofit in thr mail today. Went to look at the wiring for our current alarm and sensors. They have 4 wires for each sensor. Red/green and black/white. What little i found online says they should only need 2 wires not all 4. That the 2 extra would be power to lets say a motion sensor. Any help would be great. The install thru the ring website is booking g for 2.5 weeks from now
