Bought Spotlight Pro Hardwired

And ended up getting sent a battery spotlight with hardwire usb c kit. Kind of annoying but my question is, do I have to leave the battery in even though it’s essentially hardwired? I installed this morning and I took out the battery about an hour ago and it seems to be working fine but with the battery in I was getting low battery warning so I’m confused on what the right method is. Thanks for any help
