Turrets not firing?

I haven't had a lot of experience with turrets and so I'm wondering why it is that they don't fire at raiders when they come.
At first I thought the walls blocked their line of sight so I am changing the walls to embrasures to see if that will fix it. But otherwise I'm not sure what the problem is. Any help would be appreciated!
