Slow later game, time for PC upgrade?

Hi Folks need some advice here, I am finding my game slowing down and getting laggy at speed 3 or 4 later in the game. Last game I was getting around 13 fps with around 15 colonists and 10 alpacas. I do run some mods but I have trimmed it down to mostly QoL stuff. Thinking maybe it is time I upgrade at least my MB and CPU. I kinda get a little jealous of some of pics I see of people with sprawling bases with 30 colonists. My current rig is a AMD A10-5800K running at 3.8 Ghz. 16 Gb of ram. GeForce GTX970.

So what do you guys and gals think? Would an upgrade make my rimworld experience better?
