Tutorial bug - incapable of violence

I think I have a bug in the tutorial, unless I'm missing something.
I'm told to have my colonists all equip a weapon, but one of them is Incapable of Violence, so he's not able to pick up either gun or the knife, so the tutorial won't progress. Am I doing something wrong, or do I really need to restart the tutorial?
