3 Siege Raids, from 3 different factions, in the Space of 5 minutes.... None of them felt the need to bring mortars....

Update: Each raid spawned in with 12 pawns.
-Green sent 10 to Blue and 2 to Orange, failing miserably in both attacks.
-Blue retaliated by sending its 9 survivors to attack my main gate, they all died at the stone hands of my 2 Sentinels (Rim world of Magic, Geomancer Summons)
-Orange took no casualties from the Green assault, eventually I got bored of waiting for them to do anything and sent my Mages to wipe them out with fireballs

Rimsenal - Storytellers Pack, the one I'm using is pretty aggressive
and unlimited threat scale
