I think the villain of S4 should be Pontius. He’s gonna be coming out of military school, or maybe he’ll drop out, and have some new skills. He’s definitely got a chip on his shoulder and Jesse has a disconnect from him.

Gideon will be in a more powerful position of the church and will definitely have some changes after studying under Eli. I like that he has a secretive side from his family with badass skills that he used for his own benefit, just like the Maniac Kid!

I don’t know anything about the Bible or it’s stories but I know that brothers fighting is a pretty biblical trope.

What type of villain would you want for the next season?

Comments

Funny enough: Biblically, the Old Testament prophet Eli had two sons who were notoriously corrupt in handling the affairs of the temple, including stealing from the sacrifices and generally being a disgrace.

It’s always been an indication to me that the creators know their bibles pretty well, because they named the patriarch with the unruly children “Eli.”

That said, the biblical Eli actually chose to anoint another prophet not related to him, Samuel, who was brought to the temple by his mother to be used by God. So I could see a villain being a young, non-family member that Eli considers passing his legacy to, like Samuel.
