While exploring you can land safely anywhere from flying without using your parachute. I find myself using this a lot as it allows you to land anywhere with precision without the need for a parachute and without needing to backtrack or revive.

How? Example:

While in midair simply switch from rocketwing to bike and then hit the WALK/EQUIP GEAR button (Q on PC or down on the D-PAD on console) to put your bike away and be in walking mode. You can do this at any height and your character won't take any fall damage/crash when you land on the ground with your feet like some sort of god.

This works with any flying type to any ground type ride, funkie or toy
