Question for Rhodesian ridgeback owners; puppy growth…
Post Body

Hi,

I have my first RR. She’s 11 months now and has been about 74-75 lbs for two months or so now. Everyone keeps saying she will get bigger (primarily because of her paws, but most RR have huge paws); however, she hasn’t budged in weight, and her height is relatively the same as her last growth spurt. Most people can tell she’s still a puppy so maybe that’s why they are saying she will get bigger? I want to ensure I’m not missing anything because she’s a good weight for her stature. I don't know if I should feed her more.

Her mom is 85 lbs; her father is not too sure. I got her from a backyard breeder who got shut down (yay!). Her mom is a bit overweight, so I'm not sure if that’s a factor in why her weight is the same.

They don’t stop growing until 18 months according to vet, but shouldn’t her weight reflect that? I would like to know what other RR owners have experienced. Did your puppy keep getting bigger after 11 months, or is it just a guideline?
