My brand new (just bought it, finally got to the range for the first time today) M206 revolver had a rather unusual malfunction about the third or fourth reload today. I fired all six shots downrange, swung the cylinder out, tipped the muzzle up, and gave a firm push on the ejector rod. What I was met with was a strange situation. Five casings fell free, but the sixth remained in the cylinder...but just wait, it gets weirded. The case head is trapped under the extractor star. How I managed to pull that off is beyond me. The ejector rod, even when fully depressed, will not go in far enough to allow the casing to be manually removed. The extractor star will not seat fully against the cylinder, because the case head is trapped under it. What would be the best way to proceed? The gun is safe as it sits, because it's physically impossible for the cylinder to close. The only course of action that I can think of is to disassemble the cylinder to allow the casing to fall free. Is there something obvious that I'm missing? My only other revolver experience is with a Ruger Wrangler, and that's a completely different animal.
