How do you know if you have augmentation or just a flare up of symptoms?

And can you get it if you never had any benefit in the first place from medication and you're on a tiny dose? I've been on .125mg of pramipexole for 2 weeks. Had worsening rls symptoms last night that kept me up and I've feeling it while awake today too, though not as severe as last night. Although I did take magnesium gycinate to try to help me sleep (I've been dealing with insomnia) - I don't know if that worsened it. Normally things that are sedating worsen my rls but lately I had been tolerating sedating things better. It's been months since it's been this bad. I had one really, really bad period of time with terrible rls where I couldn't even be still or get relaxed during the daytime without symptoms. It's not that bad now, but worse than it was a few days ago. Is this most likely just a coincidental flare up of symptoms considering the duration I've been on the med and the dose? I had been planning on asking my doctor to increase the dose but now I'm worried that this is augmentation or something. I haven't had any side effects or any noticeable change otherwise.
