Anyone know why resistance bands push heart rate so much?
Post Body

Hey folks,

I recently swapped the gym for resistance band training - but with the same purpose of building muscle. Basically a body-building workout.

However I fatigue so much quicker than with traditional weights, even though I don't push more sets and only slightly more reps (weights usually 8 - 12, here more like 10 - 15). In the gym I'd usually have a HR of 130, with bands I get to around 150, sometimes 160. Therefore I barely make it through my workout. Feels like an intense HIIT workout.

Anyone know what the underlying reason is?

Edit: Also, because of this I'm not able to use rest periods to train another muscle group which increases workout duration.
