Sidebar altering bot?

So I've got a start on this (still learning Python and PRAW), but even trying the documented examples for this fail completely.
Basically, I need the bot to change one line in the subreddit's sidebar once a day.
Problem is, I can't even get the contents of the sidebar.
Anyone willing to assist me with this?
