Okay so I just had it out with my landlord, he claims that because the gas bill is in my name he's not responsible for anything regarding the gas meter. Claiming specifically that the issue I have is because of a lack of a paid bill. Well I have receipts and have paid my bill but my issue is that when I relayed the info that the consumers energy person relayed to me he immediately cut me off to mansplain the meter to me. To which I very quickly spoke over him with info relayed to me and reiterated it. The info being that my unit's meter is on, they have locks on them for a reason whether it's on or off, and that someone would need to be there today between the hours of 4p-8p. I then explained to him that I work until 5p and won't be in the area till 6p and that if he could stay there from 4-6 I'd be able to take over. His response was that it's not his responsibility and I should have asked nicely despite the fact that I've been without working heat since I turned it on on Sunday and it's his property. Basically I need to know from y'all is 1 if he's right in that regard, and 2 if this is gonna be a continued issue for me with him. In Michigan
