I have now just spent my first vacation in Reno. I have been going from casino to casino to check things out and today I went to Cal Neva. I couldn't believe what I was seeing as I walked through this place. At one point I had growing sense of dread and fear rising up in the pit of my stomach. I realized I had to get out of there. What a seedy, depressing and dirty place. It was like there was a convention for homeless meth heads and this is where they were all meeting up. How does that place stay in business? Who owns it? For you long time residents, was there a time when it was actually a nice place or was it always kind of on the darker side?
I was on a business trip to Reno 3 years ago (stayed at the old Harrah’s which was no picnic either) and Karaoke night at the Cal Neva was…..an experience
