Playtesting opportunity to give feedback on the Rengar Update
Post Body

UPDATE: Hey pridestalkers (am I doing that right??), wanted to give a quick update on this.

TL;DR - this is NOT something we typically do (experimental, trying to manage expectations, etc.); we have 3 invited players in the LA area; we OK with /u/YoutubeSilphi coming to LA for a playtest and I'm working with player support to manage this and see what we can do, however this is NOT something we typically do.

(1) this is the first time we've offered this to a champion main subreddit, it was spur of the moment and it was something we wanted to experiment with. Just wanted to clarify that to set expectations appropriately.

(2) We have some players! I've invited 3 players who reached out to me via direct message for them to attend the labs next Monday at 6.

(3) RE /u/YoutubeSilphi - I didn't anticipate to open Pandora's Box here, but he showed an incredible amount of enthusiasm (I missed the stream but watched some of the VOD) and the Rengar community really god behind it.

Again to set expectations, this is NOT something we typically do. Scarra came in for the Kat update because Riot has a relationship with him for esports production and he also lives in the LA area. This is not something we have a sustainable method for handling AND there are additional risks from a research concern (what if 10 rengar players love the update but 1 high profile player doesn't? How does that color perception when the high profile player talks about it on release, etc.)

THAT BEING SAID... I'm down for /u/YoutubeSilphi to come to LA for some playtesting. I'm talking with player support as well as the leads in research & Insights tomorrow to figure out what we can additionally do for him. The last thing I want is for him to fly out here and have a sub-optimal experience :')

(Original Post)

What's up r/rengarmains! I'm a researcher at Riot Games and I'll be running a playtest on the Rengar Update next Monday at 6:00pm (8/29) here at the Riot campus in LA. If you live in the LA area (or can make it here for the playtest on your own) feel free to direct message me and I'll see if you're eligible.

This is our first time reaching out to a champion mains community and reddit to see if any are interested in playtesting - /u/RiotRepertoir mentioned you guys were one of the more active communities so I'd figure we'd extend the offer. Otherwise I typically run a data pull of all the players in the LA Area and invite a mix of hard Rengar mains and jungle mains with some Rengar experience. Don't worry, I'm not bringing in ADCs who just want your champ removed from the game :')
