Hey everyone,

For close to 20 years now, I've felt like my mother's scapegoat. I've cut contacts with her 2-3 years ago after she had textually told me that I wasn't the son she wished she had (and many other hurtful things). I'm used to belittling from her but she usually doesn't have bad intentions saying those things, she's just not aware of what she says. That time was different, and she crossed the line by a mile.

Now I've tried talking to her about what bothers me before I cut the cord, but she'd either belittle my feelings or wouldn't remember our speech a couple of weeks later. I know that she's never gonna change, everyone ran away from her because of that, and I'm pretty sure I'll never enjoy her presence ever again (never really did anyway, but I know nothing else).

She tried again to reach out this week, and I was rude with her. Our exchange ended with me telling her that I'd block her from social media if she didn't stop. I couldn't sleep that night, and I still can't figure out why she keeps reaching out and throwing her hate at me thinking it's gonna make me want to see her.

I have every reasons to think that she's never gonna change, or she would have after everyone in her life ran away from her. But it's everyone else that's the problem for her.

Now the reason why I'm here (except the rant) is because I'd like to hear from others who are/have been in a situation like this. How do you managed this? What repercussions do you think it had on yourself? What do your family thinks about this? How do you cope with it?
