I was in the Emergency room for 7 hours. It was busy, plus they did a bunch of tests. I was there for so long, I started to get quite hungry. I asked if they had snacks, and a nurse got me a sandwich. "Ham on Harvarti ok?" I was too hungry to be picky, so I replied, jokingly, "that's fine, just don't tell my rabbi!" Matthew, another nurse overheard, said, "how 'bout egg salad instead?" He got the alternative, and when he handed it over, he said quietly, "I'm Jewish too", and asked me what synagogue I attend.
PS, I'm over whatever felled me, resting at home now.
Love to see these small actions of solidarity! Wishing you a smooth continued recovery
