I found my Grandpa's old AKAI X-150D that he purchased in Vietnam, I tried it with an album and all the play, rewind, stop and FF functions work. However, when playing a tape, it plays around 2x-3x too slow. The rewind and FF is very fast so I do not think the belts need replacing. Should I replace the rubber drive wheel tire first? It doesn't look too bad, but the new replacement tires I've seen on ebay do look decently thicker, or should I try the belts first. Whatever it is, it doesn't look like it will be a serious repair and the deck is centimental and also 100% flawless in terms of cosmetics so I would love to try to get it working.
