So I've finally got my surgery scheduled for February! Going from a 42K to "as small as I can reasonably make you" and I'm so relieved and nervous and excited. Wondering if anyone just kind of slept for the first day or two after surgery? I see so many posts of those of you that are up and about and I'm thinking "I don't know if I can do that!"
I had my wisdom teeth removed when I was 21 and just remember taking a pain pill and passing out for a few hours. Then wake up, eat some apple sauce and drink some water and then another pain pill and I'm out. I don't think I peed or showered for 3 days. Is this something that any of you have experienced? I know I've got an adverse reaction to codene and anything containing or related to it, which I've discussed with my doctor.
The only other major medical procedure I've had is given birth vaginally. I believe I had 2 stitches from a tear. (Note: when my husband read about the "husband stitch" he audibly cringed and had no words but his facial expressions spoke volumes.)
I don't want to be on the prescribed pain medication for any longer than necessary as I have addicts in both sides of my family and have noticed some addict behavior I didn't like in myself recently.
So after allllll that backstory - how were your first three days? Were you in a fog? What did you wish you would have known? I'm talking down to the best/easiest types of foods to eat. Does it hurt to chew? Should I get jello and applesauce?
I'd love to hear everyone's experiences!
