The Reds are the one team ive been a fan of since I can remember. I am a Bengals fan, but chose that in 1999 cause I like cats and was obsessed with tigers for a bit so boom, Bengals fan. No regrets there as of 2022.

My great grand father was born in 1902 and loved baseball as a kid and was a Reds fan, my grandfather was born in the early 1930s and loved baseball and was a Reds fan, my mom followed suit and here I am in my 30s. What im trying to say here is that I am a fan of the team, through ups and downs. I can handle bad teams, it happens, I can handle free agents or trades that dont work out, it happens, I can handle Mat Latos, who is a tattooed dildo made of piss, vinegar and hate, I can handle giving up Josiah Grey and Jeter Downs to get rid of Bailey's contract and acquire what should have been a good package of Puig, Kemp, Alex Wood and Kyle Farmer...

But what I cannot handle is the entitlement of a boy who when you Google his name the top result is that he is the son of Bob Castellini.

Phil, you and your father are terrible baseball team owners. You are terrible decision makers. You are cheap, lazy and entitled. You think that things should just work out and you should be able to have a contender dirt cheap and rake in money. You do not deserve a single goddamn dollar from any fan. You are not entitled to a good team, you have to look at what you have and build it. This is the MLB where top end players can play into their late 30s with ease.

You trade All-Star Jesse Winker strictly to get the contract of Suarez off your books. A salary of $11M that currently ranks as 13th in salaries for 3rd base. Who ranks 7th? Mike Moustakas, who you signed in 2020 at 31 years old for a 4 year 64M contract when you already had a starting 3rd basemen in Suarez. You did this instead of fixing your short stop situation with a real short stop, instead moving Suarez to a position he is not comfortable in then blaming him for his regression and trading away your ALL STAR outfielder, who is only 28 and making 7M, to get rid of 11M you wanted rid of since you signed Moustakas to an untradable contract.

Do you see how braindead all that was? You had 3rd base, you signed another and just said "it will work", but like every move the Castellini's make, it failed. Puig and Kemp? Failures. Wood? You let him walk for no reason. Farmer? Dirt cheap and thats the only reason you kept him. What you need to notice is a set of hard pills to swallow... You are a successful business family, but you do not know how to manage a baseball team, you do not know how to sign free agents, you do not know how to trade effectively and you flat out refuse to spend money wisely.

If you dont sign Moustakas, do you make these other decisions? Probably not, but who made that decision? The Castellini's did. You are so obsessed with winning immediately and making a splash then refuse to actually make that splash. Nick Castellanos was a fan favorite and wanted to come back, but you didnt even attempt to humor it. You could have backloaded the contract to hit after Moustakas' expired, but no. Fuck the fans. You trade away your other fan favorite in Winker to get rid of an affordable 3rd basemen in Suarez to save 18M to cover what you are paying Moustakas. These are moves that a cheap ownership group makes to cover their own bad moves.

What you both have done with the Reds is expect instant wins without putting the effort in to bring a good baseball mind in to run things. You want a patsy to do your bidding and lie to the public. Krall stating the Reds were looking to bolster the roster was a joke. You signed journeymen, nobodies and took Seattle's trash to get an ok pitching prospect and dump salary. You then trade for Mike Minor for some reason when you let go of Wade Miley who was cheaper. Why? Because you want to act like you are doing things when you are just making moves for the sake of it because you are too cowardly to admit you dont know what you are doing in the face of scrutiny. You might as well throw darts at an action and then at a player and youd get similar results.

The youtube channel UrinatingTree said it best... the Castellini family has turned the storied franchise of the Cincinnati Reds into an irrelevant team. Two playoff births since this family has taken the team with 0 series wins and in less than 20 years we are on the third or fourth teardown with still no clear plan beyond how can we save the Castellini Cheapskates money. If you cannot afford to pay players then sell the team, if you are losing money then sell the team, if its too hard then sell the team. Stop trying to blame fans and players for managerial decisions. Phil, you claim you "understand how our fans feel and im sorry" but you dont and you arent. You are entitled, you are an executive who wont ever listen to anyone that isnt your daddy or his friends and you wont hire someone who tells you how to spend goddamn money wisely on your team that you listen to because they know baseball better than you do.

Look at jersey sales at the end of 2022 and tell me if they are higher than those in 2021. I know everyone is clamoring for a Colin Moran jersey (no disrespect to him) compared to Castellanos or Winker. I have a Castellanos jersey, a Winker jersey and a Votto jersey. Why should I buy a Greene or Lodolo jersey when you will probably not resign them or will trade them to get rid of a contract? You are cheap and do things that cheap entitled rich men do. Until you sell the team or bring on a GM who handles baseball operations without your tiny pocketbook being their top priority, I am not spending a dime. If my son becomes a Guardians fan or something, that is your fault. I refuse to go to Reds games this season, but will go to Columbus Clippers games. When this team bleeds fans and loses income ask yourself again, "where are you gonna go?" and youll realize the answer is "to the Bengals". Be careful what you wish for Castellini.
