I think this rebuild sucks worse because we were maybe 1 or 2 pieces away from something big. We were in the playoffs 2 years ago and in the hunt last year. We get some bullpen help or a SS; we may be in line to win the Central and have a big playoff run. Instead, they just decide to dismantle the entire core and start from scratch.

The last rebuilds we did came a few years after the success; this just comes out of nowhere when we were gonna contend but they just said "Screw it" and took the advice of the Marlins management to say "Yeah, winning is fine but.....money" and then, in a few years wonder where all the ticket sales are going
